Psalm 13:1 How long will You forget me, O LORD? Forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?

GOD NEVER FORGETS

Have you ever driven through a large city at night? Chicago is not too far from where we live and we've passed through several times on the way home after dark. The night skyline of a great metropolitan area can be impressive. The buildings are lit up and cars are driving here and there. But here's what really gets me -- each headlight means a person behind the wheel. Each lighted office building means people work there. There are a lot of people! It's staggering to think about it. How can one keep track of so many people? Where are they all going? What are they all doing?

When God looks upon the earth, imagine what He must see. More than just a city in motion, He sees the world. He sees every creature. He sees every human being every moment. He knows where they're going and what they're doing. That's amazing. If we had to keep track of all that, we'd forget about someone, don't you think? Do you think God might forget about someone with all that He's got to keep His eye on?

I think we feel sometimes like He forgets about us. There are so many other faces for Him to look at. There are so many others who need His help and His care. You're just one little person in a huge city -- no, in a world with billions of people.

Does He forget you? I don't think He can, really. If you gave up your only child to save the life of someone else, you wouldn't forget the person your son saved, would you?
