Solo Show at the Nevada Museum of Art Opens in March
|
|
I will be having a solo show at the Nevada Museum of Art in March. I will be debuting a new large-scale work that measures over 76 inches wide and 10 inches deep. The show, titled Then wanting came to mean touching without (the land) was normal, will run for several months.
The Nevada Museum of Art is the only accredited art museum in the state of Nevada. Recognized for following best practices as outlined by the American Association of Museums, the Museum is committed to continuous institutional improvement and change. With accreditation, the Museum joins the ranks of other significant institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Just 5% of all museums in the US earn AAM accreditation.

Limited Edition Bon Iver Print Produces over $8000 for Charity (So Far...)
|
David B. Smith Gallery and artist Gregory Euclide are very pleased to announce that the success of the limited edition print release has produced over $8000 in donations to the choosen charities. A special thank you to everyone for your support.
The prints are available for $225 each, with 50% of net proceeds donated to Agapé Riding Center and the Greater Mankato Area United Way Connecting Kids Program, two non-profit organizations based in South Central Minnesota. Agapé Riding Center’s equine assisted-learning program aims to help young people develop a sense of connection to the self, others, and the natural environment. The Greater Mankato Area United Way Connecting Kids program educates parents and guardians about opportunities in the community for kids to get involved, and provides financial resources to households that need help in order for their children to participate in youth development programs. For more information about Agapé Riding Center and the Greater Mankato Area United Way Connecting Kids Program, visit their websites at http://www.agaperidingcenter.com and http://www.mankatounitedway.org/connecting-kids.php.
"By making high quality reproductions of the art used for the Bon Iver cover,” Euclide states, “we’re able to give fans something really special as well as afford opportunities to underprivileged children in our community. That’s art being useful.”

Jerome Foundation Fellowship
|
|
I was awarded a Jerome Foundation Fellowship for Emerging Artists.
Since 1981, the Jerome Foundation has generously funded this fellowship program to significantly advance, artistically and critically, emerging visual artists in Minnesota.
An independent jury of three arts professionals competitively awards $10,000 grants to five artists. Fellowships may be used to purchase materials, cover the production costs of artwork, and supplement living or travel costs. During the twelve-month fellowship year, each artist receives three studio visits from professional critics, free enrollment in one professional development course, access to technical assistance, a culminating exhibition at the MCAD Gallery, a catalog with a critical essay on each artist’s work, and the opportunity to partake in a public panel discussion.
The Jerome Foundation, created by artist and philanthropist Jerome Hill (1905–1972), seeks to contribute to a dynamic and evolving culture by supporting the creation, development, and production of new works by emerging artists. The Foundation makes grants to nonprofit arts organizations and artists in Minnesota and New York City.
