You will all be aware of the restrictions advised by the government, designed to reduce the impact of the Corona virus. Many of you will also be aware the Scout Association has imposed a total ban on face-to-face Scouting. Both these mean that the SSWAC club programme is on hold, with no activities taking place until May at the earliest. This situation is still unfolding, so the restrictions may alter at any time, maybe for the worse, but hopefully for the better. As a club, we are constantly reviewing the situation, and will contact people when we are able to resume actiities.

 

Where people have paid in full, or a deposit, for an event we are running, the specific organiser will be in contact with them, to look at options.

 

Even if we were able to resume activities in May and beyond, some events already programmed will not go ahead, as they require time for their organisation. This includes the two Fun Days and various courses. The Brownsea island trip will be advertised, in the hope that it can run, though no monies will be requested at this time.

 

The big one for us this year was to be running a base for Surrey Scoutabout. This huge event has now been postponed to July 2021. I shall therefore be keeping the details of those that volunteered their time and/or boats, and I will contact everyone nearer the time, to confirm the offers still stand.
