2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.
CLAY POTS
Since we are bond-servants of Christ, let us never think that the strength and power to be effective servants comes from us, from our strength and will power. We are only the containers of the Gospel of Christ which has been poured into our hearts.
We are called earthen vessels, clay pots. The power to be effective workers for Christ does not come from us, but from God (cf. 2 Corinthians 3:4-6).
We are clay pots, easily broken, not very pretty, only useful when something miraculous and powerful is put in us.
The power that we have been given, that shines in our hearts and lives, is meant to be communicated to others by Word of mouth and it is able to save souls. It's poured into us so that we pour it out to others. It is the Gospel of Christ that makes us useful vessels, but the power to change human hearts, to convert the soul, will always be God's.
God has given into your heart and hands a power that can give life to the spiritually dead. He has given you the Gospel of Christ, which is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes (Romans 1:16).
Pour it out to others!
