NEWS DIARY NOTICE: World Kindness Day, TODAY, 13 November
WHAT: Today is World Kindness Day. To celebrate, Carnegie UK Trust and The Wheel, Ireland's national association of charities, will be launching the results of a survey into people's perceptions kindness in Ireland, and a new report on community participation. The findings will be announced this evening in Dublin at the launch of the final report of People’s Conversation, a series of public consultations that took place over the past three years.
WHEN: Wednesday, 13 November (interviews available all day. Launch event at 6-8pm
WHO: Ivan Cooper, Director of Public Policy at The Wheel is available for interview.
The report and survey findings will be launched at a special event at the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin, and will feature a live recording of Dil Wickremasinghe’s popular Insight Matters podcast. The event will hear contributions from some of Ireland’s best-known activists, including:
- Fr. Peter McVerry, lifelong campaigner in homelessness and poverty and founder of the Peter Mc Verry Trust;
- Salome Mbugua, Head of Operations and Strategy with AkiDwA and chair of the working group on Ireland’s Third National Action Plan on Women Peace and Security;
- Stephen Teap, Cervical Check campaigner and member of 221Plus Patient Support Group;
- Molly Redmond, Student Climate Strike Activist with Fridays for Future.
