Psalm 116:1, 7 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy . . . Be at rest once more, O my soul, for the LORD has been good to you.
ARE YOU LISTENING, GOD?
"Are you listening, God?" Perhaps you've uttered that cry in frustration after your prayers have not been answered the way you felt they ought to have been answered. Have you wondered in your mind from time to time if the LORD really hears? Have you been tempted to think that He is not always attentive to the cries of His children?
A parent can pick out the crying of his own child even in a room full of crying children. So your Heavenly Father can recognize the cries of you, His dear child, amidst a world full of prayers ascending to His throne.
The LORD has indeed heard and been good to you. When you are overcome by trouble and sorrow, do not cease to call on the name of the LORD. If the cords of death and the anguish of the grave should be your concern, turn to the Rock of your salvation. In all your need, the LORD saves. For the LORD has delivered your soul from death, your eyes from tears, and your feet from stumbling -- through your Savior Jesus Christ.
