1 Corinthians 15:15 Yes, and we are found false witnesses of God, because we have testified of God that He raised up Christ, whom He did not raise up--if in fact the dead do not rise.
FAITHFUL CHRISTIAN WITNESSES
The recent uncovering of documents in England which showed falsified reports concerning man-made global warming have led some to call for prosecutions of fraud for those who have pushed such an agenda and made a good deal of money in doing so. People are rightly upset after being unnecessarily frightened and taxed because of falsehoods.
If Jesus never did rise from the dead, then much greater crimes have been committed by those Christians who have gave witness to His Word and works. How terrible to give people words of hope on their death beds or to give false comfort to loved ones at a funeral! If Christ is in the grave, you are a false witness. You are a liar every single time you give somebody a reason for the hope that is within you.
But ... Christ is risen from the dead. This means that everyone who proclaims hope in His name is telling the truth. You can bank on it. You are not some fanatic out on the edge of reality. You are giving real hope and comfort. You are not some politician or celebrity trying to put spin on facts. You have the facts. You are not feeding somebody a line to keep them from grief. You are giving them the best counsel, and the facts about what Christ's resurrection means to the Christian.
Christ is risen from the dead. Proclaimers of this news are not frauds, but are greatly needed to shine the light of truth and hope in a sin-darkened world.
