As we slowly get used to living with Covid, it becomes increasingly likely that we will have to live with it in one form or another for some considerable time to come. At present, to help deal with this, we offer meetings to members either "live" in the clubrooms or via Zoom, with last week's meeting being attended by 31 members at the clubrooms and 42 at home. Council are acutely aware that some of those who watch over Zoom do so because either they or their partners are classed as vulnerable and are merely taking sensible precautions. However, some of those regularly watching over Zoom are possibly not vulnerable but are joining via Zoom out of concern that meetings within the confines of the clubrooms might not be safe, others may not be attending because current recommendations preclude the use of the air conditioning, which means that the clubrooms aren't, to say the least, very warm and they don’t want to spend a couple of hours shivering.
In an attempt to counter these fears and to allow the use of the air-conditioning, Council are looking at ways to make the clubrooms more Covid safe. One way to do this would be to introduce air purifiers, which are claimed to remove 99.9% of all nasties from the air, this would also allow the use of the air conditioning to warm up the place in winter and cool it in the summer. However, this is an expensive option and we don't really want to spend large amounts of your money if it doesn't actually make a high proportion of Zoom users feel confident enough to attend in person. We have therefore come up with a short on line survey to help us gauge members' opinions, this survey is a simple affair that just requires clicking Yes or No to 4 questions. However, to make this survey worthwhile we need ALL members to complete it, so please follow this link: http://forms.office.com/r/RNnpNvx2pg to submit your answers.
Please note, this is not an attempt to try to stop hybrid meetings, as we plan to continue them for the foreseeable future. What this is, is an attempt to try and persuade those teetering on the edge to start coming to the clubrooms on a Wednesday evening rather than watching from home.
So, to help us make the right decision for you, please take a couple of minutes to complete the survey, as insufficient responses will render the survey useless.
All responses are completely anonymous.
WOULD YOU PLEASE TRY TO COMPLETE THE SURVEY BY WEDNESDAY 26 JANUARY
Many thanks
