Revelation 21:4 He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.
AND THE LIFE OF THE WORLD TO COME
A man by the name of Douglas Adams wrote a book in which he describes a humorous situation in which a whale is, for lack of a better word, zapped into being a few thousand feet above the planet. Due to this situation, the whale's entire life span is only a few minutes, since almost as soon as he becomes alive, he begins to plummet to his death. Before he really has time to figure who or what he is, he is no more than a crater full of flesh and blood and bones.
We too barely have a chance to come to grips with the world in which we live before we are on the way out -- and end as nothing more than a pile of dust. Whatever time we have in this world -- one is barely able to call it life -- we spend 25 years growing and trying to learn how to live. Then, just when we have reached our full potential and growth, the height of our strength and energy, then we immediately begin dying.
For this reason we Christians look forward not to our future here, but our future life in that world that is to come -- a life which can truly be called life, for instead of being filled with sorrow and pain and death, that life will be filled with joy and everlasting happiness.
