John 2:9-11 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from, the master of the feast called the bridegroom. And he said to him, ". . . You have kept the good wine until now!" This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him.

WE TOO BEHOLD HIS GLORY

All of the disciples felt Jesus' glory at work in their lives as He called them to follow Him and revealed to them the power and splendor of His divine Person through the words He spoke and the wondrous works He performed.

For Jesus' disciples His miracles were a series of giant exclamation points, each one a divine "Amen" emphasizing and re-emphasizing the glory of God's only-begotten Son -- strengthening and reinforcing His followers faith in Him.

So John writes of the miracle of Jesus' changing of water into wine: "This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory; and His disciples believed in Him" (Jn 2:11).

Jesus' first miracle was of special significance to His disciples. Through it they got a glimpse of the true glory of His person. And their newly-formed faith was confirmed and strengthened.

This miracle is of special significance to us as well. It strengthens our faith too -- and makes a warm and lasting impression on our hearts. For we are struck by the fact that this Jesus is the very Creator Himself.

Beautiful Savior, King of Creation,
Son of God and Son of Man!
Glory and honor, Praise, adoration,
Now and forevermore be Thine!
