This week's Kicksville release is an educational song, teaching the listener about the importance of eating a good breakfast. Ghost toast and hell jelly: What could be more nourishing AND terrifying?
Frankly, even the song's primary lyricist,
Andy Ewen, admits he is not entirely sure what he was getting at. It could be some kind of statement about the war machine, or possibly some lingering childhood fear of Pop Tarts emanating from his subconscious. Nobody is sure.
Kicksville would, however, like to advise that you don't take the song literally - please don't go looking for grenades inside the rotisserie chickens at your local food emporium.
So just sit back, open up your ears and spirit to Andy's and Kicksville's nightmarish imagination, and remember: You are what you eat....
