John 14:3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be also ...

JESUS WILL COME AGAIN TO TAKE YOU HOME

There are times that we think of the worst case scenario: being forgotten by our Lord. We think of the great mass of humanity on Judgment Day and we might worry about getting shoved aside and forgotten and left behind. You wonder, maybe, if the Lord has forgotten about you already.

Such doubt and worry is a tremendous tool of the devil. He uses that to leverage you away from Jesus. If you had to move a big rock, you could use a lever -- a length of wood or a piece of steel that you could put under the rock and pry it loose. When the devil works to pry your faith away from Christ, the lever that he uses is doubt. Once he gets doubt wedged in there, he's halfway home. All he has to do is start prying, and a person's faith can be levered into a downward spiral of despair.

The Lord's cure for such a troubled heart is to remind you that He will never forget about you. "And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am there you may be also" (John 14:3). Jesus wants you to be with Him, not just in time, but forever. It was to this end that He came to the earth in the first place -- to make you His own.

Jesus will not forget about you. He knows your name. He knows how many hairs you have on your head. He knows your strengths and weaknesses and He is working around the clock to see to it that you remain in Him. He has made a promise to you that He will come back to get you. The cure for a heart that feels lonely and isolated is the promise of Jesus to take you to the place that He has prepared for you.
