Light My Fire A series of talks which aim to present information on the inter-related aspects of fire behaviour and management. The talks will be followed by lunch (1.00pm -2 pm) and then a walk in the local area to study, first hand, the various aspects of fire covered during the talks in the morning session. A range of speakers will present various perspectives relating to fire including: · NPWS; · The Rural Fire Service; · Bushland ecology. The subjects will include: · Why we burn; · Why we burn when we do: · Impact of fire on flora and fauna; · Multiple fire management outcomes; · Fire intensity pros and cons; · Wildfire behaviour; · Mosaic burning; · Asset protection; · Ecological implications for using or excluding fire.
