Videos made at shows - of Wade singing versions of unreleased songs that he's written - have been posted in various places. I know we all enjoy seeing them because we are eager for Wade's new music. However, this could come at a big price to Wade. All it would take is for another songwriter to use the idea, theme, hook - the gist of the song - in a new composition. If that one gets released by an artist, it pretty well stomps the chance of Wade's song being released. This is not far-fetched. Any professional songwriter, including Wade, could name names in examples where this has occurred. It's a "slimy practice," but it happens in Nashville. ~~ Helen

* NOTES ON NEW YEAR'S EVE AT TROUT'S IN BAKERSFIELD, CA
A huge accident on the freeway made a lot of fans late to the show. One group drove 100 miles out of the way to get around the scene. Wade was caught in it, too, so not many missed the opening acoustic performance.
His acoustic show - a mix of oldies and new ones - had the crowd loving it. There were many requests for his old songs. That’s got to make an artist feel real good. The later show had Wade joining the house band and others on stage off and on till midnight. He rocked it! It’s always a treat to see Wade take the stage with a band of musicians that he’s never played with before, get into the music, add his voice and his guitar, and bring it all together for some amazing entertainment.
After midnight he played an acoustic version of “Wichita LIneman,” always a crowd favorite. A great way to ring in the New Year.
Trout's reported that "Wade was awesome, as always. We'd like to have him every New Year's Eve."
