7:30 PM MONDAY APRIL 21 - AUDIENCE CALL

We are making our first serious attempt at a live-performance video recording on the the day after Easter, hoping for an audience mix of adults, kids, and teens. Want to be there?

Video is a lot trickier than audio for storytelling. With a CD, you are in the room with the teller, and the visuals are in your head, a whole universe of objects and effects. On a video screen, it's really hard to not look dinky, takes a lot of skill, work, and (usually) money. But there is a strong visual element to our performance, it's an important part of what we do, and we want to make a good record of it.

So this is an experiment.

There'll be four cameras recording a single session, with a guy in the control room fitting it all together on the fly. We're not really looking to make a commercial product. We do hope to be able to extract enough usable material for excerpts on YouTube, and maybe to create an ad that shows (as well as tells) who we are and what we can do. And-- who knows?-- maybe we'll get some complete watchable folkale performances.

We're performing King and the Thrush, Imps of Misfortune, Hungry Wolf's Lucky Day, and Jackal's Pond. They're all reasonably bullet proof, very visual, and have audience interaction.

Seating's limited to 35. There is no charge. Admission is by reservation only. Contact us for details.
