In case it has fallen down the cracks don’t forget we have Defibrillator and CPR training taking place at Unit 13 next Wednesday (21 May). The session will start at 18:00 and last about an hour. Martha Pugh-Jones who works with the Ambulance Service will be running the training and the main points being covered are
- What
cardiac arrest is
- Learning
the primary survey (DRS ABC)
- Understanding
key actions a bystander can take before an ambulance arrives
- How to
perform CPR
- How to use
an AED
- Hands on
practice with a CPR Manikin to gain practical experience (Note:
bring something to kneel on)
- Opportunity
for questions (BPS forte!)
This training is primarily aimed at equipping as many members as possible to have the knowledge to step up if we have a member that needs to be helped in this way before paramedics arrive. We all hope that this situation will never arise, but If it does let’s make sure we can handle the situation as best we can.
See you on Wednesday.
