where you can add your comments to the debate presently raging in the UK over alternative medicine.
Prince Charles fueled the debate by speaking publicly in favor of alternative medicine only hours after a group of prominent scientists and physicians denounced it and called for the National Health Service to stop providing funding for it.
The history of science and medicine is replete with pitched battles of exactly this sort. Consider Ignaz Semmelweis's heroic efforts to encourage his fellow physicians to wash their hands, for example. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Semmelweis
Semmelweis was the first to make the connection between hygiene and disease in the context of a hospital.
Being a skilled observer, he couldn't help but notice that in his hospital, medical students were dissecting cadavers, then going across the hall, and without washing their hands or instruments, when they delivered babies, the mothers and babies were dying like flies- and from the same illness that had been killing so many of the people they'd been dissecting- something called prepurebral fever.
Deducing that there must be something invisible on their hands and instruments, he ordered everyone to wash their hands and instruments, and ordered the bed linens to be changed regularly. Voila! As if by "magic", his hospital suddenly became the SAFEST in all of Europe.
So when he went to the big medical society meeting in Vienna, Semmelweiss expected to be given a heros welcome for figuring this out, but NO! The arrogant #@#$@##@#@s openly MOCKED him, and REVILED him just as these goons in England are currently MOCKING alternative medicine.
Semmelweiss's lectures became increasingingly vitriolic attacks on his detractors, and fearing he might take his life, in an effort to protect him his family had him committed to a mental institution. In the mental institution, Semmelweiss made his final statement to the world in an effort to get his point across: After delivering the baby of one of his fellow patients, he plunged the unclean scalpel deep into his abdomen, and died from the same disease he'd spent the latter part of his career trying to alert could be stopped by simply washing hands and surgical instruments.
40 years after his tragic death, with horror, doctors FINALLY realized Semmelweiss had been correct, and they finally began washing their hands. (40 years is the length of time it takes for a generation to come and go, for the old guard to die out, and for new people to come along not so tainted by bias.)
At this point a STATUE was erected in Semmelweiss's native Budapest (Hungary), and at long last, Dr.s started practicing good hygiene, but sadly, as this current debate in the UK proves- their arrogance level is every bit as over the top today as it was in 1865, the year Semmelweis commited suicide.
I went to the Daily Mail's website just now and added my two cents worth, and hope many of you, from all over the world, will follow suit. For those of you who may not have already read my personal story of recovery from schizophrenia via orthomolecular medicine, you'll find it here: http://www.iahf.com/on_the_back_wards.html
You haven't heard from me for a while. The reason is because I've been working with the author of an impressive new book that blows the lid off the Codex scam as well as numerous other FDA scams. The book has been released, and I'll be sending out a book review soon. Since only a pre-release galley copy of 5000 has been printed, I'm going to have the chance to tweak the last three chapters which address the Codex issue.
This past weekend I helped this individual at the DC Book Expo, a trade show of book publishers and authors. The book is being very well received! Soon I'll be telling you a lot more about this new weapon all of us will be able to use to rein in the FDA and stop CODEX dead in its tracks. While you wait for this news, please visit the Daily Mail's website http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/health/healthmain.html?in_article_id=387335&in_page_id=1774#AddComment and weigh in on the "GREAT DEBATE" yourselves!!
Please direct all of your friends to http://www.nocodexgenocide.com to the TAKE ACTION section. IAHF and NHF are still collaborating in an effort to jointly address the FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter. We're still working to get a member of the Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee of the House Commerce Committee to send a letter to the FDA. Its proving challenging to get the support we need due to the coming congressional election, and IAHF needs donations for additional trips to DC. Although we're dealing with a Congress thats largely owned by Pharma, if you swing a SLEDGEHAMMER at a slab of CONCRETE LONG ENOUGH, you'll start seeing CRACKS!
Please urge more people to sign our petition calling for Oversight of the FDA's Trilateral Cooperation Charter: http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/373269232 The more signatures we can get, the harder it will be for Con-gress to deny us the oversight hearing we need, especially when we tell the members of the Oversight & Investigations Subcommittee that we won't VOTE for them in the coming election if they DON'T help us this way! You can get that list here: http://energycommerce.house.gov/108/subcommittees/Oversight_and_Investigations.htm
(If you are from Kentucky, and your congressman is Ed Whitfield, please let me know your phone number. We need to talk, because he's the Chair of this subcommittee and IAHF needs your assistance! We need to pressure Whitfield via the health food stores and alternative doctors offices in his district. I might COME to his district to RALLY people on this, and will need a pullout sofa to crash on!
Appreciate this work and want to support it? Please go to http://www.nocodexgenocide.com/page/page/3113342.htm If you have sent a donation and haven't received anything from IAHF in a while, please have patience, I'll be getting a bunch of packages off to folks next week. I've been pinned down here trying to juggle more balls than one person can easily handle.
