Daylight Music Autumn 2015 | join us on twitter / facebook What’s the perfect start to a Saturday? If your
answer features live music, a cuppa and a bacon sandwich, then you should head to
the new season of Daylight Music. The new season is particularly exciting, as curator Ben
Eshmade explains: “There are so many treats in store;
from our first Uilleann pipe band (TEYR), to the return of some of our favourite artists
– like Haiku Salut, Iskra String Quartet and The Pictish Trail. There are also old friends in new guises; The Real Tuesday Weld (Soviet
sounds and Cold War Cabaret) and Emily Barker (Applewood Road) will both be performing their new projects. People love coming
back to Daylight because it’s a place where artists can test out new ideas, and
compositions, on an appreciative, enraptured audience.
As always, we seek out the scene’s
rising stars, so don’t miss Holly Macve or Daudi Matsiko, who are both getting
a lot of attention right now. Plus we’ll be celebrating the 200th
Daylight Music with an extra special line-up that includes Ex-Easter Island
Head; last time they played Daylight they got a standing ovation. Our themed Daylights have been so
popular, so we’ve got even more of them this Autumn, including a Daylight dedicated
to all things James Bond, a celebration of Lo Recordings (on their 20th Birthday year), plus not just one but two
of our famed Christmas shows.” To coincide with the new season here’s a video
capturing the Daylight Music experience by Geoff Wilson. Grab a tea and a slice and cake and view here.
