Bynums Continues Annual African American
History Essay Contest

Bynums Creative Institute (a division of Bynums Marketing & Communications, Inc.), is inviting students ages 6 through 18 to participate in the 20th annual African American History Essay Contest. The competition is held each year in celebration of Black History Month, and it is designed to help students of all races learn about African Americans who have made positive contributions to society. The contest will officially launch on February 28, 2012. " UPMC Health plan has agreed to co-sponsor this year's contest. We had decided to suspend the contest this year due to lack of sponsors. However the numerous calls and emails from students, parents and teachers helped us decide to keep it going," stated Russell Bynum, President of Bynums Marketing and Communications, Inc. and creator of the program. "I greatly appreciate UPMC's involvement.

The purpose of this event is to celebrate and learn about African American History and to encourage understanding among all Americans," says Kathy Bynum, Vice President of Bynums Marketing.
