In The News...

Getting started with organizing can be a struggle!  In her latest article, Lori gives us a challenge to help us get over those hurdles.

Two Types of People...

There are two types of people in the office.  Those who interrupt, and those who don't want to be interrupted.  Which are you?

To stave off the interruptions, there are a few things you can do:
  • Stand up to talk when people come into your office to interrupt you. They are less likely to sit if you're standing.
  • Remove chairs in your office or place book on them so people don't sit down to chit chat.
  • Schedule time for interruptions.  "I have set aside an hour between 2:00-3:00 to discuss projects with co-workers.  Can this wait for you to come back then?"
Are you the interrupter?  Things you can do to help everyone be more productive:
  • Read body language of your co-workers to see when it's a good time to talk.
  • Be courteous to the fact that others may have deadlines they need to meet.
  • Ask permission to see if they have time for a discussion, schedule a few minutes to talk ahead of time or communicate electronically.
Stop Unwanted Emails...

Here is a way to stop those unwanted spam emails and marketing promotions that seems to appear in your inbox non-stop. In Gmail, go to SETTINGS>FILTERS AND BLOCKED ADDRESSES.  Next, Create a New Filter that sends all emails containing the word "unsubscribe" straight to Spam.  This way only the mail you really want to see will appear in your inbox!

Lose Your Stuff, Find Yourself...

In her book, "Lose Your Stuff, Find Yourself," Lori inspires you to organize.

"Do away with the excuse that you can't be organized because those around you are not.  You can live with a disorganized person and still be organized yourself."
