INVESTING IN COMMUNITY: MEDIA BRIEFING AND PANEL DISCUSSION
 
Venue: Buswells Hotel, Georgian Suite
Date: Wednesday, 25 September
Time: 1pm-2.30pm.
 
This special event will bring together representatives of 50 charities and a panel of charity leaders, representing a cross-section of the sector, to discuss the potential impact of Budget 2020 and the Government’s recently announced strategies to support the community and voluntary sector and social enterprise. 
 
The discussion will focus on the many essential services and supports provided by charities, community and voluntary organisations and social enterprises across Ireland, the importance of sustainable funding models, the cost of insurance, the need for proportional compliance requirements and increased collaboration between our sector and the state for the benefit of all.
 
Ivan Cooper, Director of Public Policy at The Wheel will outline a range of proposed measures to address these issues.

Following the panel discussion, The Wheel and dozens of its members, representing a cross-section of the charity, community and voluntary and social enterprise sector, will move to the gates of Leinster House to present its pre-budget submission to the spokespeople for finance and conduct  at the gates.
