Landscape Photographer of the Year
This exhibition is on from 7-9 February at the National Theatre (South Bank, London, SE1 9PX). Full details available on the NT's website
A Beautiful World
This exhibition features the work of 19 photographers who have been moved by our beautiful world enough to document it in all its glory. Some have chosen to focus on the physical landscape, some on the animal world, others have taken nature as their inspiration, whilst some have chosen the beauty of people. What they all have in common is the unique and touching interpretation of the beauty they perceive in the world.
A Beautiful World is a touring exhibition created and supported by The Photographic Angle, I've mentioned The Photographic Angle before as a charity that organise travelling photo exhibitions. This one will be from 15 - 19 February at Castlemead, Lower Castle St, BS1 3AH.
Wildlife Photographer of the Year
This exhibition is on for just a couple more weeks at M-Shed, it closes on 23 February. Full details on their website.

Competition to Enter - RPS Western Region - OOPS!
|
Last week I passed on an invitation from the RPS Western Region to enter their projected image competition. No sooner had I hit the send button for the Newsletter, than I received an email from the RPS saying that they had made a big mistake and that it is only open to RPS members - I'm glad I'm not the only one who drops clangers!

Top UK Photographers Bring Their Vision to Bristol
|
Some of the UK's top nature photographers, Andy Rouse, Alex Mustard, Peter Cairns and Bristol-based young photographer, Bertie Gregory, will gather in Bristol on Monday 24 March to present an evening of spell-binding imagery and personal anecdotes from 2020VISION, the most ambitious nature photography project ever staged in the UK.
Focusing on 20 flagship projects – including the Somerset Levels – 2020VISION’s team of top UK landscape and wildlife photographers have come together to tell an inspirational story about some of the UK’s ecosystems and the services they provide to us all, such as clean water, fresh air and productive soils - to show that healthy ecosystems are not just for wildlife, but are something fundamental to us all.
Taking place at St George’s in Bristol’s West End, “THE VISION” theatre show will present a fascinating insight into the ethos behind the project, revealing inspiring stories from throughout the country where some of our greatest and wildest natural ecosystems are being repaired and re-connected.
Speaker, Andy Rouse, says “The evening will see some of the most talented UK nature photographers talking about their incredible work for 2020VISION and how they achieved these incredible images. 2020VISION is a visual feast for the soul, a collection of some of the most inspirational images ever taken in the UK, all on our own doorstep."
Tickets cost £10 and are available from St George’s box office on 08454024001 or www.stgeorgesbristol.co.uk. Concessions and half-price student tickets are also available.
2020VISION is a collaborative project, working alongside many partners, such as John Muir Trust and Nature Picture Library, to tell this vital story. To find out more about the project visit www.2020v.org
