Dear Cut A Shine Mailing List....
Summer has only just this week arrived and now we're tumbling into the festival season like a bunch of hillbilly reprobates two fiddles short of a old time string quartet.
And what could possibly be unique about this email? What could be new and groundbreaking from a ragged old string band 8 years into existence and fast approaching being just-another-middle-aged-band-with-banjos? What could possibly make this summer of schlepping from field to field different from all the rest? Well, 3 things as it happens.
We've built our own festival venue. It's an authentic, unique and traditional Timber Framed Barn called The Travelling Barn. It's made of Oak and Douglas Fir and is massive – over 20 meters long and 14 meters wide. We built it with awesomely qualified timber framers and those darned clever folks at Secret Garden Party. You can see it here: www.thetravellingbarn.co.uk
And what would one do inside a massive mobile timber framed barn at a festival? A Roller Hoedown of course! Just like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mo93vvXPM8s
So this is what we're doing this summer. We want to see you there.
Oh, and we've remixed a load of our tunes into a new genre of music called HoeTech. You'll just have to come to Glade Festival to hear it.
Shows! Shows! Show!
There's a cracking festival going on in Brighton this weekend called The Hanging Gardens of Brighton, and we're playing at it. Come. It's by the seaside.
And then we're playing in London on Saturday 26th May at the St John at Hackney church, organised by the most splendid Keston Cobblers Club. It's their album launch and there are loads of great bands playing and you should come. Here is info
Other News:
Right, we're off to set up our very own festival in the Welsh Mountains, Fire in the Mountain. It's so nearly sold out and everyone knows about it so see you there.
LASTLY! Learn to play folk tunes! It's fun. www.tradacademy.co.uk/
