Luke 2:19 But Mary kept all these things and pondered them in her heart.

PONDER THE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS

Its off to the mall . . . and then to the grocery store . . . and we forgot to pick up a gift for Charlie, so we need to go back to the bookstore . . . why is this traffic light so slow? Wait! He just cut me off! I can't believe the toy store was out of that game, now what are we going to get for Sally . . . When we get home you bring in the packages, I'll start dinner, and with a little luck we'll only be 10 minutes late for the Christmas concert.

Whew! Sound familiar?

Mary, Jesus' mother, had a busy Christmas. There was so much that happened and so much significance to it. But she treasured all that had happened and all of the truth surrounding her Son and Savior. Mary kept taking time to reconsider these things, ponder them, and treasure them all the more.

My prayer for you this Christmas is that you ponder the gift of God in Christ Jesus, our Savior.

Oh, may we keep and ponder in our mind
God's wondrous love in saving lost mankind!
Trace we the Babe, who hath retrieved our loss,
From His poor manger to His bitter cross,
Tread in His steps, assisted by His grace,
Till man's first heavenly state again takes place.
