Wednesday 25 July
Wednesday sees the visit of Mike McNamee FRPS FBPPA with his talk "Exhibition Printing". Mike teaches exhibition printing at the Epson Print Academy. He is also the editor of Professional Imagemaker magazine and before that, Digital Photographer and Creative Imaging. Over the past decade he has tested almost every printer intended for the serious, enthusiast market, along with most wide format printers. Sounds like an evening not to miss if you are a print worker and even if you aren't.

BPS Archive
As you may be aware, Gordon Stirrat maintains a print archive for BPS, containing the work of members. Periodically we like to add to this as part of a continuing record.  I am looking for suitable work at the moment. This is likely be an image that has done well in external exhibitions, or has won an award in a competition. Inevitably only a small number of images can be accepted but if you feel you have a potential print, then please contact me either at club or by email. I am looking for a variety of work and even if you have work in the collection already, please submit. You may find it easier to email suitable images to me at  jgchamberlin.yahoo.co.uk

Lightroom - Demos
Many of you will have attended the last DI Group meeting when Bob Micklethwait gave a presentation on the use of Lightroom. He has prepared some short demos that cover a large part of what he talked about on the night and these can be downloaded by following this link. When doing so, you will be confronted with a small box asking if you would like to save the file, a second small window will open showing the file downloading. When complete, you might be asked to confirm that it is OK to Open an Executable File, click OK. The presentation will then run. To run the demo again, locate the downloaded file and double click on the Lightroom icon and the demo will begin. You will see four options, just click on the one you want and sit back and watch. You will need the sound turned on on your system. Sounds complicated? If this dummy can do it, any one can.

Studio/Clubrooms - Building Works

Please check with Nick Ball as to studio availability during August (studio@bristolphoto.org.uk)

International Exhibition Link
For those of you on the trail of extra post nominals, you might find the following website that Barry Mead has passed on to me useful; http://www.fc59delft.nl/Pagina/Inschrijfform.html. It lists many current international exhibitions/salons, giving links, closing dates, costs and much more. It's written in Dutch but the bits you will need will be obvious, whatever language they are in.

Exhibition to Enter
The South Devon International Salon closing date is Saturday 21 July, but I'm reliably informed that they will still accept entries up until lunchtime Sunday. This is their first attempt at running a Salon so it would be good to support them. Click here to enter.

Things to Photograph

Well done to Nick Ball on gaining his ARPS
