At the tender age of 20, Laura Marling has already far surpassed her contemporary peers in the British folk scene and is the latest artist to take part in our Blue Series of releases.
Produced by Jack White, for her recording Laura Marling chose two incredible dark folk classics and does them heavenly justice: Jackson C Frank’s “Blues Run The Game” and Neil Young’s “The Needle And The Damage Done”. Marling recorded the tracks - in one perfect take – earlier this year.
Having released two excellent albums over just three years she’s shown a marked growth and grasp of a style of music that continues to elude those beyond her in years. A thoroughly English songwriter with a heavy influence of American instrumentation.
