Psalm 25:8-10 Good and upright is the LORD; Therefore He teaches sinners in the way. The humble He guides in justice, And the humble He teaches His way. All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth, To such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.

GUIDE ME, O THOU GREAT JEHOVAH

What else might we ask of God? We follow the example of the Psalmist and pray that God would also guide us all the rest of our days.

It's a fact that shames us time and again -- we don't always keep our promises. We say we will, we intend to, but we don't follow through. We fail.

The LORD, on the other hand, is upright and good. He is faithful and true. He always keeps His promises. It's this fact that allows us to come to Him confidently.

He tells us to call upon Him in the day of trouble (Psalm 50:15). Then He promises that He will hear and answer, and that we will have reason to glorify Him as a result.

Notice here that it is said that the LORD also guides the humble in heart. When we come to Him we do so humbly, with an honest and true view of ourselves. "Lord, I'm a sinner, I need your help and your guidance. Give me good decision-making skills and let them always be guided by Your Word."

Let it also be our prayer that God guide us all the days of our lives. May we seek His guidance on a daily basis in prayer.

So we pray with the Psalmist: "Lord, protect me, teach me, lead me, forgive me, and guide me."

He answers: "Yes, my children, trust me, listen to me, follow me."
