Dear Friends,
For several years now, I’ve been recording some of my favorite songs from Dances Of Universal Peace, as well as a few of my own originals. At long last, I’ve taken the time to assemble them into albums and get them released through streaming services such as Spotify, Amazon Music, and YouTube. I hope that you enjoy singing along, and that making them available for free on these services will make them easier to find and play while driving down the highway, through headphones on your phone, or however you listen to music.
Weeks away - Our Dance Retreat Nov 1-3, at The Farm Community in Tennessee
I am excited to announce that over 45 Dancers and Dance Leaders from California to Virginia, Michigan to Georgia, Idaho and Montana, Canada, and Florida are coming to our November Dance weekend! Add the 20 to 40 Dancers from inside our community, and it promises to be a dynamic and fulfilling Circle experience.

Along with the Dances, we are all coming together to discuss the future of Dances of Universal Peace in North America, with the goal of sharing our inspiration in all directions.
I want to thank all of you for your friendship, your love and support, and the beauty of this practice we share!
Douglas

More about my Albums
It’s been my great joy to have the support of musicians such as Hassan Ravenwolf on flute, Bernie Skydrummer on percussion, Joy Harris, Halima Flowers, Habiba Dollard, and others on backup vocals. I am honored to have Biko Casini of Rising Appalachia on percussion on Turning Toward the Light. Thank you to Paula Bickham on accordion for Zikr of the Trees. In addition to singing, I am playing guitar and bass, and sometimes even percussion.
A tremendous thanks also goes out to my dear friend and business partner Phil Schweitzer who did much of the recording and mixing.
My deepest appreciation to all the originators and tunesmiths of the Dances of Universal Peace practice for the creation of these beautiful and uplifting pieces of inspirational music.
The first album, I’m Ready, features a song of the same name that came to me in a dream two weeks before my mother passed. I had been her caregiver for four years and lived with her during her last year when she could no longer speak. I sang this at her bedside during those last days before she transitioned. A week after she passed, I went to my first Dance Weekend.
The title of the second album, Inner Knowing, draws from my dance, Zicker of the Trees, inspired by a day in the forest with plant medicine. Every day, I’m grateful for one more opportunity to experience this precious life, immersed in the beauty of nature, the essence of life force in this dimension. My heart is filled with the inner knowing of the love that connects us all.
