1 John 2:1-2 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

THE LAST JUDGMENT -- OUR ADVOCATE

In a court of law, it is vital to have good representation. If you must stand before a judge, it is important to have a good lawyer, a good advocate, someone who knows the judge and how things proceed in a legal setting. A good lawyer knows when to speak and how to speak. A good advocate speaks on behalf of his client.

The Apostle John comforts us by reminding us that we have the best possible advocate. He took on human flesh and blood, so He knows what it's like for us. He is "Jesus Christ the Righteous," the sinless Son of God who is one with the Father and can approach without fear.

We have right standing with God because our Advocate is also our Propitiation. He offered Himself as the sacrifice to turn aside God's wrath forever -- and His Sacrifice was accepted in full as payment for our every sin.

May God help us today to witness to others, for our Advocate also gave himself to turn aside God's wrath from every human being. May God help us to be His ambassadors and make known the Good News that Jesus has turned God's wrath from us all through His shed blood!
