Newsletter for Offshore Residents of Pittwater, Australia  Volume 9, Issue 249 July 2007

A girl named Alyse Saxby is a student at Pittwater High School.   She is intellectually handicapped and has been selected to sail in the Australian team in the Special Olympics in Shanghai in October.

When I heard about her at a meeting of Marine Watch, I undertook to raise the money to send her, thinking I would have the support of school parents.    I arranged a concert by my two professional pianist friends, Bill Gleeson and Richard Hutt - who have obliged before, once for our Bushfire Brigade and once for Careflight.    This time they agreed to present a concert at the school on Thursday, 12th July, as they will be in Sydney for a QANTAS function on 14th.

The concert is at 8pm on 12th July, at Pittwater High.   Steinway & Sons are sending a grand piano, and
Two Men and Two Grands have arranged an excellent programme.   Tickets are $20 each.

I have tickets for sale, as has PMC HILL at Church Point, and though the school is on holidays, they have left the phone connected to the booking number. ;

I have been given some excellent raffle prizes, and will be selling tickets at Church Point throughout this week.    Raffle prizes include a hand made quilt, 2 watches, a set of a JBL speakers, a basket filled with groceries, a case of wine and an all weather coat.
