Luke 20:15-16 "So they cast him out of the vineyard and killed him. Therefore what will the owner of the vineyard do to them? He will come and destroy those vinedressers and give the vineyard to others."
A SURE THING: GOD'S LOVE OVERFLOWS
It is a sure thing that we become frustrated when people don't listen to us. Parents warn their children so that they won't repeat the mistakes of their own youth. People reach out in love and try to help another. What is the human reaction when a deaf ear is turned to the information and love we bring? Bitterness? Anger? A reluctance to put ourselves on the line again?
The Lord had nurtured and protected His people for centuries. They were blessed as recipients of His Law and His prophets. He cared for and protected the descendants of Abraham as His own special people.
After the rejection of His Son in the flesh, He decided to "give the vineyard to others." God's patience has limits, and we do well to recognize how precious His grace is.
Still, the Lord did not give up passing on His inheritance. He was not reluctant to keep on loving. Jesus sent out His apostles to the ends of the earth proclaiming salvation in His name. We who may not be children of Abraham by blood, are not excluded as heirs of everlasting life.
God's love overflows without discrimination and prejudice to people regardless of background, ethnicity, or status in society. That is a sure thing.
