(March 4, 2012) - The Olive Tree Foundation has provided a grant to the Muslim Interscholastic Tournament (MIST) which is set to take place next weekend, March 10th and 11th at York University. Prizes and winners will be announced on March 12th at an Awards Ceremony.
"The Olive Tree Foundation is very pleased to once again support MIST," said Muneeb Nasir, President of the Foundation, in announcing the sponsorship of the tournament.
"MIST is the largest Muslim tournament for high school students and certainly one of the best youth events that should make us all proud.”
This year’s MIST theme is “Famiiy: Reconnecting Our Hearts to Home.”
"Anytime we come together for the betterment of our children, their families and this society, we are making an important civic contribution,” added Muneeb Nasir.
MIST (Muslim Interscholastic Tournament) is famous for being a fun, educational, interactive program of competitions and workshops geared towards bringing high school students together from around the nation to develop leadership, communication, and other creative skills, all while gaining a deeper understanding of Islam and Muslims.
MIST was founded in 2001 by a freshman at the University of Houston who saw a need for a program that can guide high school students in all aspects of their academic and personal life.
