NEW BOOK: 'THE BIG HEALEYS' - JOHN NIKAS & MARC VORGERS
 
In co-operation with the American author John Nikas yours truly (Marc Vorgers) presents a wonderful series of books on iconic British sports cars. The books are published by Amberley Publishing in Great Britain. The first book in this series: 'THE BIG HEALEYS', was published earlier this month. The beautifully made and finished paperback book contains 96 pages of make and model stories, detailed information, racing history and many illustrations. Historic photographs and dozens of colour photos showing the models in detail will arouse your interest. All the colour photographs originate from the vast ClassicarGarage photo archives. AUSTIN HEALEY 100/4 BN-1, 1954
 
Austin Healey 100/4 (BN-1), year 1954. Colour Ice blue metallic with a dark blue leather interior and dark blue carpet. A Heritage certificate is present, from this we learn that the car was sold new to the USA in exactly this colour combination. In the year 1988 the Austin Healey was shipped to the Netherlands. In the Netherlands, the automobile was extensively and perfectly restored and modified to high standards. The restoration was completed in the year 2007 and a complete restoration file with many invoices is present.

MG MGC GT, 1969
 
MG MGC GT, year 1969. Body colour black with a dark red leather interior trimmed wiht black piping and black carpet. This magnificent MG MGC GT is in superb top condition! The bodywork was perfectly restored by the renowned firm of Piet Mozes in the years 2014-2015 and the car was fitted with a new metal (European type) dashboard, gauges and new exterior chrome. In the years 2016-2017 the seats were given new leather upholstery, the six-cylinder engine was perfectly overhauled and tuned, and the clutch was renewed. Ever since the car has driven about 2000 kilometres.

JAGUAR XK 150 3.8 LITRE FHC (COUPE), 1960
 
Jaguar XK 150 3.8 Litre FHC, year 1960. Chassis number S836628DN, engine number available on request. Colour light blue (Pastel Blue) with a dark blue leather interior and dark blue carpet. This gorgeous Jaguar XK 150 coupe was sold new in The Hague, the Netherlands. The car was registered in the Netherlands until the year 2016. This fine Jaguar XK 150 FHC was extensively and ‘body-off’ restored under direction of Lex Classics over the years 1999-2002. A complete photo reportage of the restoration is present. This fabulous XK 150 is in superb top-condition and the car drives perfectly!

FIAT 600 D ABARTH 850 TC, 1962
 
Fiat 600 D Abarth 850 TC, year 1962. Colour white with a red leatherette interior trimmed with white piping. Black rubber carpet with a protective anthracite/red rubber protective mat on top. This magnificent Fiat Abarth is officially named: Fiat 600 D ‘derivata’ Abarth 850 TC. The extensive description means that the car was built in the Fiat factory and that the Fiat was then completed at the Abarth factory in Turin as a Abarth 850 TC. This stunning Fiat was sold new to a Mr. Russo Dolofero a resident of Sicily at that time. The car was entered for racing competitions in the south of Italy early in its life. Photos are present of the car at the Peragusa circuit in 1965. In the 1970ies and 1980ies the car was garaged, and many years later, in the year 2006, the car was discovered by the Sicilian brothers Corrado and Maurizio Valvo. The brothers had the Fiat Abarth restored to its current superb TOP condition! This is a very rare original Fiat Abarth!

MERCEDES-BENZ 250 SL 'PAGODE' (W113), 1969
 
Mercedes-Benz 250 SL ‘Pagode’, year 1969. Colour Dark Maroon (MB colour-code 460) with a cognac leather interior and beige carpet. Original hard-top in Mocca colour. This magnificent and rare Mercedes-Benz 250 SL features a manually operated gearbox and the automobile is in perfect concourse condition! This fine SL was fully restored in the years 2015 – 2017 and about 2000 hours of work were needed to achieve perfection. A complete photo reportage of the restoration is present. Where ever you look you will only see perfection! This is a rare W113 250 SL in A1 concourse condition.

BENTLEY 3½ LITRE SPORTS, 1934
 
Bentley 3½ Litre Sports, year 1934. Colour two tone pale green/dark green with a cognac leather interior and matching carpet. Chassis number B111BL. This ‘Derby’ Bentley left the factory with an open tourer bodywork on 3 August 1934. The automobile was shipped to the first owner in South Africa. In the 1940ies the Bentley was shipped back to the UK. In the late 1980ies, early 1990ies the automobile was given the current beautiful two-seater sports bodywork by an English coach building firm. From this period a vast amount of restoration invoices are in file. This Bentley 3½ Litre Sports is in excellent condition and the car drives absolutely majestic!

ROLLS-ROYCE PHANTOM I 'SPRINGFIELD', 1926
 
Rolls-Royce Phantom I ‘Springfield’ with bodywork by Brewster, year 1926. Body colour black with dark red striping, aluminium bonnet and dark red wire wheels. Dark red leather interior, carpet, hood and hood-cover. This very impressive Rolls-Royce Phantom I is in possession of the same owner for a few decades now, a former owner was Mr. Axel Springer of the world renowned Axel Springer publishing company. The current long-time owner is selling one of his favourites in which he has participated in many historic long distance (touring rally) event, the car and owner has even seen the pyramids of Egypt. Recently the automobile was restored to bring it to top condition. Beautiful new paint, a newly upholstered interior (made in England), a new hood and newly spoked wheels are the finishing touches. This Rolls-Royce is in a superb condition and the car drives impressively!
