Happy New Year!
We just returned from an epic trip to Australia, where we rang in 2012 in style at the Woodford Folk Festival! Highlights include copious amounts of Cascade Pure, inspired sets by Jesca Hoop, The String Contingent, Lucy Wise and more, and 3 minutes of silence in the heart of Jinibara Country to commemorate the end of 2011. To cap off our decade, we played two crazy shows in Queensland during the first week of January, all the while lounging on the beach and eating chickpeas. Good times.
As you know, CS will be flying under the radar this year. We’re planning on keeping this email list updated every few months with information on the various other things going on. (If you’d like to be removed, please click unsubscribe at the bottom of this message.) We still have plenty of organic T-shirts and tote bags left over from our fall tour, and will be setting up an online store in the coming weeks. Stay tuned.
Aoife is in Denver this weekend to play a few shows with bassist Greg Garrison, trumpet legend Dave Douglas, mandolinist Matt Flinner, and drummer John Gunther at the Dazzle Jazz Club. In late January, the Goat Rodeo Sessions will be coming LIVE to a theatre near you! Yup, a movie theatre. Click
here for a list of participating venues- Aoife is the guest vocalist in this group, which also features YoYo Ma, Edgar Meyer, Chris Thile, and Stuart Duncan. Starting February 23, she’ll jump on the Punch Brothers tour and play opening sets in 12 cities around the USA. Details for all these shows can be found at

Greg spent December in Europe playing to throngs of adoring fans with his band the Deadly Gentlemen. If you live in Boston, catch these guys live at the Lizard Lounge THIS Thursday and Friday. The Deadly Gentlemen will be heading into the studio in a few weeks to start work on their next album, and they will be on tour all year starting with a West Coast run leading up to Wintergrass. The best way to keep track of them is to sign their email list at
www.deadlygentlemen.com. If you aren’t familiar with them yet, they released a video introduction not too long ago- click

Corey is currently hiking around the New Zealand wilderness. Upon his return to the chilly north, he’ll be hitting the slopes and getting ready for a performance with Traddleboro at the
Northern Roots Festival. Those of you who caught a show this fall might remember Corey’s offer to SKI with you. It still stands. Drop him a line at
corey@crookedstill.com Come February, he’ll team up with Lissa Schneckburger, Brittany Haas, Kai Welch, Darol Anger, and Emy Phelps for a lovely Valentine’s tour. Details for “Sweethearts’ Night Out” can be found at
