Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament shows His handiwork.

THE EXISTENCE OF GOD MADE KNOWN TO ALL

An atheist was once asked what he would say to God in the afterlife if he were to find out that God really does exist in spite of his constant denials of God's existence throughout his earthly life. The atheist smugly replied that he would say something like, "Why did you make yourself so hard to find!"

What a silly proposition -- that God has tried to hide his existence from human beings. In fact, the evidence of God's existence is all around, open for all to see. Look at the universe, look at the world, look at your own body. The intricate order and design that characterizes such things can only point to a powerful and wise Creator. In fact, because of all of this clear evidence for God's existence, the Bible says that only a fool can deny it. "The fool has said in his heart, 'There is no God'" (Psalm 14:1).

Isn't it ironic that many of the so-called "wise" and "learned" of our day are actually nothing more than fools in God's eyes, as they deny His existence in favor of theories which say that random chance and chaos are ultimately responsible for all of the intricate order and design that we see all around us and even at work within our own bodies? Again, what silly propositions these are.

No, God's existence is the furthest thing from hidden. In fact, God wants all people to know that He exists so that we can come to know who He is and what He does for us. Ultimately, God wants us to hear and know His Word so that we can learn about His Son, Jesus, as our Savior from sin.
