During the 1980s, for South Africans and our liberation, people of the world mobilized in their hundreds of thousands holding protests and rallies as well as organizing music shows, free Mandela concerts and a host of other cultural events to raise awareness of Apartheid South Africa's racist policies and to build support for the boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign against Apartheid SA. Today we work towards a better, more just and equal South Africa and at the same time we champion international campaigns and causes in solidarity with oppressed peoples of the world.

Click here to watch South African music icon Miriam Makeba singing “A luta continua” in Holland during the 1980s. Makeba, a true internationalist, used art in the fight against Apartheid but also championed other international causes - in this song she celebrates the successful struggle of the people of Mozambique and their leader Samora Machel.
