PANeK:Kent Festivals Consortium is delighted to present internationally acclaimed theatre company Periplum's The Imaginarium between 12 and 4pm on Sunday 15th September at Wise Words Festival in Canterbury.
Enter into the Imaginarium and unlock secret stories from Wonderland. Housed in a 7m Bell Tent, this delightful immersive experience is a series of 5 interactive installations with short Ipad films merging modern technology with natural surroundings & traditional parlour games. Inspired by Alice in Wonderland & Through the Looking Glass, the films and installations explore the hidden stories and journeys of Wonderland’s unsung heroes.
The Ipad becomes your magnifying lens, zooming in on the minutiae of natural plants and flowers to shrink you to the eye-view of a hedgehog about to become a croquet ball & a dormouse stirring up a storm in a teapot. The films contain clues to help you find games hidden in the physical installations before you. Audience sit on astro-turf chairs in installations including a floating Mad hatter’s tea party, a chess board with live plants as chess pieces, birdcages with imprisoned roses, a croquet table with giant flowers & a beach captured within a suitcase.
The Imaginarium was commissioned by PANeK: Kent Festivals Consortium (PANeK with JimJam Arts, A Summer Squall and Wise Words) and supported by Arts Council England.
The Imaginarium is available for all season touring.  Please contact Periplum - / M: 07867 794158 / 07796 876062
