12/12/22

Super busy week at FHS this week. We have lots of opportunities to support students if you are interested.
Monday: 7:00, Dogwood, Orchestra Concert
Tuesday: Basketball Triple Header starting at 4:30
Wednesday: One of our only home wrestling meets and it will be great competition!
Thursday: A night at home
Friday: 7:00, Dogwood, Band Concert

Recently, I was invited into a very private moment with a family. I got to thinking about how unique the life of a teacher really is. We laugh and cry with students. We walk alongside parents, empathize during difficult moments, and celebrate when we can. We are constantly pulled emotionally in many directions because we have so many relationships (which is great and what we want!). Our students share their experiences with us in a way that brings us into their lives. Then we go home and look at our own kids, and the emotions come back like waves on a beach as we look at the day through their eyes. It is a special life we live, and I appreciate our staff, who do their very best to support our students daily.

Bragging Warning: FHS received our State of Michigan School Index evaluation and it was amazing. Our students actually improved during the pandemic unlike the majority of the world.

Be Well,
Scott Sherman
