Next Wednesday we get the chance to see the
digital presentation by N&EMPF (North & East Midlands
Photographic Federation) of their annual print and projected image exhibition.
This is probably the most professionally put together CD presentation we get
throughout the year and is put together by Jim Hartje from Peterborough with
commentary by Ashley Franklin from Belper. Ashley is an ex Local BBC radio
presenter so we can expect an extremely slick commentary.

SHOCK HORROR - TEA UP TO 50p!
|
It would appear that BPS members have had it far too easy for far too long (at least 15 years) with their weekly cup of tea or coffee costing a measly 30p. Inflation has finally caught up with the kitchen and it has been decided reluctantly to increase the cost of your weekly cuppa to 50p. This price increase will be effective immediately, however you should look on the bright side - no more ferreting around amongst your small change for the right money, just pick out one of those funny shaped coins and hand it over.
Talking of saving time, would members please note that there should be two distinct queues at tea time, one on the left for tea and the one on the right for coffee - this is aimed at speeding up the service and makes life easier for the serving wenches (or swains)!
|
Copies of the new 2015/2016 BPS Handbook will be available at next week's meeting. Please pick up your copy (and tick your name off the list), this will save a lot of postage cost when Derwood comes to sending out the copies not collected in late September. If you can't wait until next Wednesday, the programme is available on the BPS website, click here.

Further to last week's item about the DI Group; Ashwin would still like to receive completed copies of his questionnaire so that he can effectively plan the direction the group takes in the future. A copy of the questionnaire was attached to your newsletter last week, but if you have lost it or deleted it, you can download a copy by clicking on this link. You will need to download the file (not just open it on screen) after which you will be able to fill it in on screen. Please leave all completed questionnaires in the folder on the wall next to the tea/coffee servery. If you can't get to club, you can either scan your completed form, or if you have pdf creating software, save it as a pdf and email the resulting file to Ashwin - a.chauhan@blueyonder.co.uk

Don't forget, The Print Group quarterly meeting, run by Pete McCloskey and Graham Reeves will be held next Monday 3 August. The group is open to all members, but its aim is to give advice and prepare members ahead of applying for the photographic distinctions of the RPS and PAGB.

The club has a quantity of Fotospeed paper for sale that was received as payment for Salon catalogue advertising. It is Fotospeed PF Lustre A3 size, 275gm in boxes of 50 sheets. We are asking £30 per box, which is a massive reduction of 25% from list price. Anyone interested, please speak to Keith Wood on Wednesday or drop me an email chairman@bristolsalon.co.uk

It would be really good if members could spread the word about our new clubrooms, a good way of doing this is to let people know that they can see what we have to offer by visiting the BPS website and viewing the new page showing off the clubrooms - click here to see what I mean.
