NEWS FOR CAT LOVERS
===================================
According to a Tehama County, California website,
the shelter there noted decreased euthanasia rates for
dogs last year, but it was up 11% for cats.

Their new shelter manager has vowed to lower all euthanasia
rates in 2010 by becoming more involved in the communities in
the area and educating people about pet care and health issues.

If you have already bought How to Make Your Cat Adore You,
you are eligible to receive all updates at no charge. While
I'm working on a new Third Edition for 2010, I have, in the
meantime, updated the links inside the ebook you have now.

If you would like to have the updated "old" book, let me know
when you got your ebook, whether it's the first or second edition,
or whether you'd rather just wait for the third editon to come out
later this month.

If you want to help rescued pets, here is a pet-friendly
search engine to use instead of Google or Yahoo, etc.:

http://loveablecat.blogspot.com

Use the DogPile search bar at the top of the page,
just under the picture of the cat.

For an explanation of how this helps the rescue effort,

-------------------------

Now this one is a little disturbing, in a way...
It's a great story about a Florida SPCA shelter reaching out
to teach people how to understand their cats in the hopes
that it will mean a better future for more cats. Since many
cats are abandoned, surrendered or just thrown out of the
house for "inappropriate" behavior, it would certainly be nice
to know what they are trying to tell us so we can reach some
degree of understanding that leads to a better relationship.

But until the level of intelligence raises a whole lot with
some of the jerks who showed up to comment, nothing's
going to change.
This article sounds hopeful... until you read the comments
left below it. Maybe those are the idiots who need to be
thrown out of the house.

CAT FOOD NEWS

Here are two sites that provide the latest info on what's
being recalled:

1. www.avma.org/petfoodsafety/recalls/default.asp
(from the American Veterinary Medical Association -

2. www.accessdata.fda.gov/scripts/newpetfoodrecalls
(from the US Food and Drug Administration)

According to PetFoodIndustry.com, the organic pet food
market is growing faster than for humans!

One possible reason for the increased organic petfood
sales is that owners are willing to scale back on their
own food during the recession in order to pay a premium
for their pets' food.
