Ausgrid Update.
Emergency crews from Ausgrid are working to connect mobile generators
to local homes on the western foreshores of Pittwater to safely restore
the power supply this afternoon.
This follows yesterday's fault on a submarine power cable which
interrupted the supply to about 160 homes.
Residents affected by the power outage are asked to limit their
electricity use where possible, while connected to the generators. This
will help ensure the power supply remains safe , while crews complete
the cable repairs.
This includes avoiding the use of air conditioning where possible and
being mindful of switching off electrical appliances that are not in
use.
We expect repairs to start next week, Crews are arranging a barge so
they can lift the cable out of the water to complete the repairs,
Repairs are expected to be complex and may take some time.
During the course of repairs it is likely that the passage of vessels
around Church Point Marina will be impacted, so we ask anyone on the
water to be mindful.
If residents experience any power outages they are urged to call
Ausgrid's emergency line on 13 13 88 as soon as possible.
Ausgrid thanks residents for their patience.
