Safety First

We received a suggestion from one of our customers asking Co-op shoppers to please be mindful when entering and exiting the parking lot with their cars. We almost had someone walking down our street run over by a customer who wasn't looking when exiting our parking lot.

FIRE CIDER is made with organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar steeped for six weeks with whole, raw, certified organic oranges, lemons, onions, ginger, horseradish, habanero pepper, garlic, and turmeric, then raw wildflower honey is added to the mix. It's delicious and has a nice kick!

Local Vendor Fair and Annual Membership Meeting Wrap-Up

We would like to extend a big thank you to our Co-op family: member-owners, vendors, customers, neighbors, and everyone who came to our Local Vendor Fair on Saturday, May 21st. It was a beautiful day with so many great foods to taste and products to sample. There were a lot of great raffle prizes; thank you to all who donated. Thanks, too, to the Cimo Brothers for the tunes! Finally, a special thanks to Gwen's sister, Jackie, who entertained the smaller folk with Oobleck (cornstarch and water), which is one of four types of non-Newtonian fluids. And yes, you should read about them here because they're pretty cool.
Board President Eric Michielssen spoke at the Annual Membership Meeting about our terrific year, the newly competitive environment for organic groceries here in SLO, and future options for the Co-op's growth.

There was a member survey available at our table, so if you're a Co-op member, please fill it out and turn back to the Co-op (we have more here at the store). As always, we have a Suggestion Box at the special order desk next to the entrance, so you can always leave a comment or suggestion. Please be sure to leave your name and contact info if you would like a response.
Seeking Mural Ideas
We are starting to plan for a mural on the fence that we share with our neighbor, David. We're looking for ideas on what to paint, leadership to coordinate the project, and volunteers to do the painting.

Please let staff know your ideas and how you can contribute!
