I hope you had a delightful Thanksgiving holiday and I'm so glad you took time out of your busy Christmas schedule to read our newsletter. The December edition of Kat Bytes is always one of my favorites because this is the month that we traditionally stage our Annual Handbag Sample Sale and this year is no exception! {hint hint} Along with a few other special offers here and there so be sure to read all the way to the bottom!  

So with that I'll bid you a fond adieu until next we meet in 2018, but not before thanking all of you for supporting this newsletter and our little business this year! May you all have a joyful holiday season, spending time and relaxing with those you love!

 

 

Most of you knw that once a year we throw open our closets and offer you some fantastic deals on sample bags that will no longer be traveling with us to road shows. These are show bags and have never been used in the normal sense of the word. They’re in pristine condition & each is a ONE-OF-A-KIND StudioKat Designs original made by me! That means there’s only one of each of these styles available for purchase!

Judith Bishop of Howell, IN was our 2nd place finisher in January. She used deer skin to fashion this soft as silk Gadabout. She made it for a friend in Michigan.

And this wild & wonderful Everyday Attache was created by Mary Syme of Hillsboro, OR & finised 2nd in February. The fabric Mary used is from Laurel Burch & is set off perfectly by our striped zips!

Patti Foley of Ocala, FL said she had to make a new Quattro for herself since she had worn out her old one. She'll be making a BIG statement wherever she goes with this bag! It was our 2nd place finisher in March.

And here's a fun edition of our Odyssey pattern created by Diane Jones Straus of Midway City, CA. It finished 2nd in April & Diane dropped by our Road 2 CA booth to show it off and who can blame her, right?

This Quattro by Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ was our 2nd place finisher in May. I love the little matching zipper pulls that Cheryl adds to the zipper pocket in the back! :)

And our 2nd place finisher in June was this Everyday Attache by Shirley Allen of NJ. Shirley added two embroidered dragon-flys as zipper pulls on the outside zipper!

Our 2nd place finisher in July 2017 was Mickey Murray-Moor of Inman, SC. She bought this Everyday Attache pattern from us in Daytona Beach & was pleased to show us the finished article in Paducah, KY!

And Cheryl Maass of Goodyear, AZ is back with yet another beautiful Quattro! This lovely bag finished 2nd  in August and I love the way she trims the pocket edges with bias tape!

Here we have the very first Flaptastic Bag to be entered into our Handbag of the Month contest. It came in 2nd  September & was created by Jan Strickler of Cypress, TX.

And finally here's this gorgeous  Flaptastic Bag which finished 2nd in November. Arlene Thayer said that it's a great size for her & will hold everything she needs for everyday usage!

We just got word that we'll be vending at the 2018 Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival! We've been trying to get into that show for at least 3 years and up to now we just couldn't get our schedules to coincide, but FINALLY it's happened! The MAQF is the largest Quilt Festival on the East Coast and it's also conviently located to us I'm pretty happy about this (and the hubster is happy its only a 5 hour drive!). So if you within proximity of this show (Hampton, VA) we'd love to see YOU there!

The internet has fallen in love with the story of Max the cat, whose Instagram page went from 135 followers on Wednesday to over 6,000 followers on Friday.

It seems Max has been sneaking into the library at Macalester College in St. Paul, MN. According to Alexis Logsdon, one of Macalester's librarians, Max's strategy for gaining access to the building isn't very Ocean's Eleven, but it works.
