TOTAL FIRE BAN DECLARED FOR 8 JANUARY 2013

A total fire ban has been declared for 8 January 2013.

This means no open flames including BBQ's, pizza ovens and bamboo flares.
Gas BBQ's are permitted as long as they have a 2 metre cleared area around them.

We would like to see all residents be ready in case we do get a fire.
Could they have their pumps out and ready and be ready to activate their Bush Fire Survival Plans if needed.

All fire permits that have been written have been cancelled until further notice.

If anyone sees any smoke or fire without a fire truck/boat in attendance please call 000 immediately.

We will have someone monitoring the radio from 20.00 on Monday 7 January until further notice and we have a crew on standby on 8 January in case anything happens.

I went for a drive today in Lovett, Morning and Elvina Bays and it is very dry.

With temperatures of 38* and winds from the N to NW predicted, we could be in a bit of trouble stopping a fire if one gets going.

More information can be obtained from www.rfs.nsw.gov.au if needed including a Bushfire Survival Plan.

All active members are asked to carry their pagers and have their mobile's close in case they are needed.

Thank you all
