Kärcher: 2.5 billion turnover

According to a report by Waiblinger Kreiszeitung, Kärcher achieved in the financial year 2017 a turnover of 2.5 billion euro and increased its sales by nearly 7.5%. The number of employees has also increased. At the end of 2017, Kärcher employed 12.304 people in 65 countries worldwide – over 450 employees more than in the previous year.

"We grew twice as fast as the global market for cleaning technology," said Hartmut Jenner to Waiblinger Kreiszeitung.

Since 2009, the company is growing. Hartmut Jenner lists three reasons:
  • Low interest rate policy of central banks boosting the economy
  • Asia is becoming increasingly important, business in China has compensated for Russia's decrease
  • new technologies and digitization bring new momentum
Daughter Zoi growing
On the occasion of the founding of the IT consulting subsidiary Zoi in the summer of 2017 Hartmut Jenner stated: "We are already at the forefront of many aspects of digitization, for example with regard to the topic of cloud. We would also like to offer this knowledge to other customers, especially industry and SMEs. And of course, our goal is to drive digitalization at Kärcher."

The Kärcher subsidiary now employs 50 people in Berlin and Winnenden and is expected to continue to grow and provide long-term support to other companies as well.

12,000 employee mark exceeded
The number of employees, stated Hartmut Jenner in conversation with the Waiblinger Kreiszeitung, exceeded the mark of 12,000 people for the first time.

With a workforce-increase of 450 employees, Kärcher employs 12,304 people. "We have doubled our number of employees in ten years," explained Jenner in his interview with Waiblinger Kreiszeitung.
