Psalm 32:2 Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him.

REPORT CARD DAY

"It's report card day!" Dreaded words for many a student.

Someday it will be report card day for the whole human race. The subjects? Start with the first commandment and go all the way through to number ten. The divine grade book will be opened. God is looking for straight A's -- for absolute perfection -- from every human being. God doesn't grade on a curve. Even 99% obedience to the commandments won't get you a passing grade.

And here you and I are, nowhere near even near perfect. Look at your life. Examine your heart. Think about the ugly, awful, hurtful things you've said. Behind each commandment we find a big fat "F" on our life's report card. Everlasting detention with Satan in hell is what you and I deserve for such a report.

But wait! Sinner David has something wonderful to tell us in Psalm 32. "Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him." Our sins are not counted against us! Why? Because they were counted against Jesus instead! It's like the report cards got swapped. Jesus got the blame for our "F's". We get the credit for our Savior's "A's" -- for His perfect life! On the cross Jesus was blamed for the sin of the entire world! In exchange God credited the entire world with Jesus' perfect life. That means whoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ will be saved!

Judgment Day is report card day! Nothing to fear for God's student -- for His believer! In Christ he's already passed!

"I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life" (Jn 5:24).
