May 22, 2019
May 22nd is International Biodiversity Day. This year’s International Day for Biological Diversity focuses on biodiversity as the foundation for our food and health and as a key catalyst to transforming food systems and improving human well-being.
“From individual species through entire ecosystems, biological diversity is vital for human health and well-being. The quality of the water we drink, the food we eat and the air we breathe all depend on keeping the natural world in good health.”
- António Guterres, United Nations Secretary-General
Today, as we celebrate the importance of biological diversity and its impact on healthy ecosystems, please remember all the Ecosystem Services and Nature Based Solutions that native plants provide. #SavePlantsSaveThePlanet
