Hello Firstname

Wednesday 5 April
Next Wednesday we are being treated to a presentation called Mizaru, Iwazaru, Kikezaru by Wendy Conway DPAGB EFIAP/g from the Forest of Dean. Whilst this may well sound like a spell from Harry Potter, it is in fact a journey to the End of the World or to be precise the Shiretoko Peninsula in Japan!  Wendy & her partner, Terry Wall, visited this part of the world and the talk will take us on a journey, starting in the Nagano Alps where they spent three days watching the wild Japanese Macaques in remote Jiguokudani also known as Hell's Valley. Sleeping in the forest at night they visit the park daily to bathe in the volcanic hot spring pools thus escaping the winter snow. They (that's Wendy & Terry, not the monkies) then flew to Hokkaido to see the revered Japanese Tancho, the Red-crowned Crane and then spent four days out on the pack ice with the magnificent Steller's Sea-eagles.  An entirely different perspective on life with stunning scenery too.
Wendy's website (shared with Terry) can be found at www.terry-wall.com

ITS NOT PARTICULARLY EASY FINDING "DATES FOR YOUR DIARY", SO I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT IF MEMBERS COULD LET ME KNOW OF ANY EVENTS, EXHIBITIONS OR PICTURE LOCATIONS THAT THEY THINK WOULD BE OF INTEREST. DATES AND WEB LINKS WOULD HELP.

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Barry Mead had 6 acceptances in the recently judged WCPF Members' Exhibition (see "Dates for your Diary", above). Not content with getting 6 acceptances, 4 of those also gained awards - is there no stopping this man!
I know other members submitted entries to the exhibition, but Barry is the only one to report success; so if you too were successful, please let me know and I'll tell the world.

Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
