We are playing 10 shows this month. Here are some of the highlights;
THE 39TH TEE OFF FORE THE CHILDREN! - This Friday, July 9, The Mighty Manatees acoustic 5-piece (Johnny Machete, The Amazing Rand-i, Kathleen Weber, Ras Mykyl, and myself) will play a concert for the Committee to Benefit Children at The Cedarbrook Country Club in Blue Bell, PA. The Committee to Benefit Children provides resources for treatment, care and family support to benefit children with pediatric cancer, leukemia, sickle cell anemia, and other serious blood disorders at St. Christopher's Hospital For Children. This is a charity tournament with an amazing dinner and an outdoor clambake. To date, this annual event has raised over 1.5 million dollars. All are welcome. ROLLING STONE/WHO TRIBUTE SHOW! - This Sunday, July 11, The Mighty Manatees will take part in a 5-hour musical tribute to The Rolling Stones and The Who at The Country Creek Winery in Telford, PA. This show was originally planned for the end of May but was rained out and rescheduled. This is an all-ages, outdoor show. Ras Mykyl, The Amazing Rand-i, Jozo, K-Jo, Kathleen, Chris DelSordo, and myself, will be joined by Eric Worthington & Graham Ford from Karmic Repair Co., Chuggy Carter, Bob Tomlinson, Paul Bug, and Mike Greer. Doors open at 3:00. Music: 4:00 - 9:00 PM. Fry's Catering. Adults $20, Teens $10, Children free.

ROOT DOWN BIERGARTEN! - Roots and culture! Sunday afternoon, July 18, our acoustic 5-piece returns to the Root Down Biergarten in Phoenixville, PA, for a free, all-ages show. Bring the whole family. Showtime is 3:00 to 6:00. Musical guests have been known to show up. In the event of rain, the show will be moved to Root Down Brewery also in Phoenixville. www.rootdownbrewing.com
BOB MARLEY TRIBUTE! - Irie ites! This is one of my favorite annual shows of the year! On Saturday, July 24, we return to the Country Creek Winery in Telford, PA, to play a musical salute to one of the greatest songwriters of the last century. This is an all-ages, outdoor show. We will be joined by Ray Adkins, Tim Dodson, Mike Greer, Johnny Machete, Tom Musselman, Charlie Phillips, Bob Tomlinson, Kathleen Weber, and Daisy & Eleanor Hodgson. THE FITZWATER STATION! - Another band favorite! We LOVE to play The Fitzwater Station in Mont Clare, PA. There's just something about performing in a shady grove beside a canal with people in canoes and kayaks floating by. We are delighted to be joined by Brian Herder on guitar and dobro. DEBUT AT THE GROVE! - On the last day of July, the acoustic trio will debut at The Grove, 10 Liberty Boulevard, Malvern, PA. This is a free, all-ages, afternoon show from 3;00 to 6:00 PM. www.thegrovemalvern.com

ENVIRONMENTAL TIP OF THE MONTH! - Lately it seems like we've become knee deep in discarded face masks. Please make sure you cut or tear the strings off your old face masks before throwing them away. Recent wildlife photos have revealed all sorts of animals and birds being caught up in the strings of old face masks. Cut off your old mask strings! Thanks and a tip o' the hat to R. Torpey.
