Romans 13:11-12 And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore let us cast off the works of darkness and put on the armor of light.
THE LIGHT INDICATES THAT IT'S TIME TO WAKE UP
There are different reactions to the light of first dawn. The reaction of a teenager when the shades are drawn on a weekday morning is generally rolling over or pulling blankets up to block out the light. There's a different reaction to morning when a young man or woman is out in a deer stand as dawn breaks. A burglar will react in fear to light if he is in the middle of a robbery. Young children will have shouts of joy knowing it's morning on Christmas Day.
Light has come into the world in the person of Jesus Christ. A new dawn is coming with His second entrance into the world on Judgment Day. There are different reactions to that Light as well. Some will want to scatter like cockroaches when they are revealed in the light. Others will welcome His coming like children rejoice at Christmas.
As Christians we are children of light living in a world of darkness, but we ought not be enveloped in that darkness and enjoying that darkness. Having been brought into the light we have the opportunity to walk as children of light. Jesus has redeemed us for a holy purpose on this earth.
We also look for the brightness of Jesus' second coming. The Light coming does not mean that it's time to hide, but a reminder that it's time to wake up and not fall into the trap of spiritual sleep. Look forward to the Light. Your eternal redemption is near in His coming.
